Nature vs Nurture and Entrepreneurship

I believe that there are "unique and defining characteristics of entrepreneurs." Here are some of the ones I observe most frequently: 1) A stubborn belief in one's self; 2) A confidence bordering on arrogance; 3) A desire to accept risk and ambiguity, and the ability to live with them; 4) An ability to construct a vision and sell it to many others; and 5) A magnet for talent.


Fred Wilson 

Fred Wilson has been a venture capitalist since 1987. He currently is a managing partner at Union Square Ventures and also founded Flatiron Partners. Fred has a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Fred is married with three kids and lives in New York City.
